BUCK LAW, APC

Privacy Policy.

Effective Date: July 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Buck Law APC, a California professional corporation (“Firm,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with your use of our website located at www.thelawbuck.com (the “Website”) and the legal services we provide. We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”), and other applicable privacy laws.

By using the Website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Website.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Website and through your communications and interactions with the Firm. It does not apply to information collected offline, through third-party websites we do not control, or in the course of a formal attorney-client engagement to the extent such information is governed by the rules of professional conduct, the attorney-client privilege, or the attorney work-product doctrine.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household (“personal information”). In the preceding twelve (12) months, we may have collected the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers: name, postal address, email address, telephone number, and similar identifiers.
Customer records: contact and billing information you provide when you inquire about or retain our services.
Commercial information: records of services considered, requested, or obtained.
Internet or network activity: browsing history on the Website, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, and interactions with our content, collected automatically via cookies and similar technologies.
Geolocation data: approximate location derived from your IP address.
Professional or employment information: where you provide it (for example, in a consultation request).
Inferences: inferences drawn from the above to understand your preferences and interest in our services.
Sensitive personal information: depending on the nature of your legal matter, information you voluntarily submit may include sensitive categories. We ask that you not submit sensitive or confidential information through the Website (see Section 12).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16 years of age (see Section 11).

3. How We Collect Personal Information

Directly from you when you complete a contact or intake form, request a consultation, subscribe to communications, or otherwise correspond with us.
Automatically as you navigate the Website, through cookies, web beacons, log files, and similar technologies (see Section 5).
From third parties such as analytics providers, referral sources, and service providers that support the operation of the Website. [Confirm your actual sources.]

4. How We Use Personal Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following business purposes:

• To respond to your inquiries, evaluate potential representation, and provide legal services;
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Website;
• To communicate with you, including sending administrative information and, where permitted, marketing communications about the Firm;
• To perform a conflicts-of-interest check before undertaking any representation;
• To comply with legal obligations, court orders, and the rules of professional conduct; and
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, security incidents, and other harmful activity.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use the personal information we collected for materially different, unrelated, or incompatible purposes without providing you notice.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to recognize your browser, remember your preferences, and gather analytics about how the Website is used. We may use third-party analytics services (for example, Google Analytics) that set their own cookies. [Confirm the specific analytics and advertising services you use.]

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent; however, some portions of the Website may not function properly without cookies.

6. Global Privacy Control and “Do Not Track”

Some browsers and browser extensions transmit a Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) or “Do Not Track” signal. Where required by the CCPA, we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device from which it is received. Because there is no uniform industry standard for “Do Not Track,” we may not otherwise respond to such signals.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the business purposes

described above:

Service providers that perform functions on our behalf (for example, website hosting, IT support, email, analytics, and payment processing), bound by contract to use the information only as necessary to perform those functions;
Professional advisors such as co-counsel, experts, and vendors engaged in connection with a legal matter, consistent with our professional obligations;
Government authorities and others when required to comply with law, legal process, or a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Firm, our clients, or others.

8. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Personal Information

The Firm does not sell your personal information, and does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding twelve (12) months. [Update this statement if your advertising practices differ.]

9. Retention of Personal Information

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional-responsibility obligations (including client-file retention requirements), to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Retention periods for client files are governed by the applicable rules of professional conduct and our internal file-retention policy.

10. Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA provides you with the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:

• Right to know: to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed it.
• Right to delete: to request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal and professional exceptions.
• Right to correct: to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
• Right to opt out: to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. (As noted above, we do not sell or share personal information.)
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: to limit our use of sensitive personal information to that which is necessary to provide our services.
• Right to non-discrimination: we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at tyler@thelawbuck.com or at the address in Section 14. We will confirm receipt and respond within the timeframes required by the CCPA (generally within 45 days, with the possibility of a 45-day extension).

Verification: To protect your privacy, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, which may require you to provide information we can match against our records. We will not fulfill a request if we cannot verify your identity.

Authorized agents: You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of your written authorization and may require you to verify your own identity directly with us.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Confidentiality Notice for Website Communications

Important: Contacting the Firm through the Website, by email, or by submitting a form does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before we agree in writing to represent you is not protected by the attorney-client privilege. Please do not send confidential, sensitive, or time-sensitive information until an attorney-client relationship has been established. Unsolicited information may not be treated as confidential and could, in some circumstances, prevent us from representing you due to a conflict of interest.

13. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You transmit information to us at your own risk.

14. Third-Party Links

The Website may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate or control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” above and post the updated version on the Website. Your continued use of the Website after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
